II. Reflections on the Webinar

This seminar I had the privilege to attend has undeniably had a profound impact on my perspective of the ever-evolving technological landscape. It shed light on how we connect with post-graduation opportunities, people, and innovative ideas through diverse avenues. The lecturer's insights underscored the invaluable role of education and its potential to propel us towards promising horizons, instilling in me a realization of its indispensable nature, which extends not only to the younger generation but also to those who harbor a thirst for lifelong learning. KodeGo, a Globe Network branch was introduced in the webinar that made me think a lot about my career path and it is definitely added now in to the list of companies that I would want to get into in the future. I personally think that Kodego has a lot of potential and is something I would want to associate myself with.

In the advanced session focused on the Internet of Things (IoT), I had the opportunity to delve deeper into the transformative trends shaping this technology. IoT, defined as an intricate network of interconnected devices communicating via the internet, is undergoing rapid evolution. The trend toward incorporating edge computing is significantly enhancing real-time decision-making and responsiveness, particularly in sectors such as autonomous vehicles and industrial automation. Furthermore, the integration of AI and machine learning is empowering IoT devices to make intelligent decisions and offer tailored services, presenting transformative prospects for businesses. The imminent arrival of 5G networks is poised to elevate IoT to unprecedented levels, facilitating applications in areas like remote surgery, augmented reality, and smart cities. Nonetheless, security remains a pressing concern, underscoring the importance of striking a balance between convenience and security within IoT systems. Additionally, IoT's growth has raised pertinent questions regarding sustainability and ethics, accentuating the need for conscientious design and engineering to ensure a more efficient, secure, and sustainable future.

The session served as a poignant reminder that IoT is not merely a realm of technological progress, but rather a domain that profoundly impacts our lives, industries, and environmental well-being. It underscored the significance of embracing these trends judiciously to unlock the full potential of the Internet of Things and foster a future that is not only more efficient and secure but also environmentally responsible.
